Stockholm New Music, February 21, 2008

Dan Fröberg and Jerry Johansson will premiere their brand new composition for sitar and glass instruments, titled Down Above, in the Stockholm New Music event, on Thursday February 21th 2008, in the week-long concert series taking place in Rönnells Antikvariat, situated in Birger Jarlsgatan 32.
A unique collaboration between musician/composer Jerry Johansson and artist/composer Dan Fröberg.
Combining the Indian traditions of classical raga (and beyond), together with the delicate and dissonant tone clusters of Fröberg´s glass instruments; an alien blend of acoustic folk music slowly takes shape before our ears and eyes. A music that is both ancient in its presence/being, and thoroughly contemporary at the very same time.
To quote freely from a Blue Cheer song: "One foot in the astral world, the other one in the grave; did you see the light? Did you see the the light? Do you see the light?"
